KYB 341424 installs at either rear shock position on the 1995–1998 Acura TL with the 2.5L engine.
Description
Its nitrogen-charged twin-tube design restores the vehicle’s original damping characteristics for controlled body movement, tire contact and everyday ride quality.
- Rear left or right position; two shocks are used per vehicle.
- Application-specific damping valves and a triple-lip fluid seal.
- Replace rear shocks as a matched pair.
- Sold individually.
- For the 2.5L TL only; the 3.2L model uses a different rear shock.
Inspect the rear mounts and protective boots during replacement. KYB identifies SM5059 mounts and SB107 boots for this application; they are separate service components.

Replace the rear shocks together to maintain balanced damping; this listing supplies one shock. Inspect the mounts and protective boots before reassembly, including the separately sold SM5059 mount and SB107 boot. Use the new shaft nut if one is supplied, protect the polished piston rod from pliers or vise grips, and tighten the shaft nut with a torque wrench to the Acura service specification while holding the rod at its designated tool surface. Follow the Acura workshop procedure for supporting the suspension, spring handling and all remaining fasteners. Do not install this shock on the 3.2L TL.
