Have an engine builder identify the correct bearing position and size. Measure the crank journals and housing bores for diameter, roundness and taper with the caps tightened as specified. Clean the engine and oil passages, seat each bearing correctly and align its oil-feed holes and locating features. Measure assembled oil clearance, lubricate as directed, use the engine-specific cap-fastener procedure and confirm free crank rotation. Check thrust clearance to the engine specification where applicable. Select bearings from actual measurements and the package size code.
