Clean and inspect the hardware and block threads. Seat the studs by hand and check cylinder-head alignment. Use ARP thread sealer where a stud enters a water jacket. Lubricate the stud threads, nuts and washers with ARP Ultra-Torque, then tighten in the engine's recommended sequence in three equal stages to 80 ft-lb with ARP Ultra-Torque.
